Some of the main reasons the fur trade began are some of these things.Firstly one of the main reasons fur trade began is that men wanted new hat, so they bought when they where looking for the Northwest Passage not because they where looking for fur . When they where trading for beaver pelts they killed off a lot number of beavers and almost wiped out all of them. The Europeans finally came across another material to make their fancey hats out of , silk. Since the Europeans started to use silk instead of beaver pelts the Indians lost a lot of trade with the Europeans. To conclude it worked out to the Europeans having silk hats, and the Native Americans having European goods.
